ARAPAI EAST LIMITED is a company founded in 2022 in Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Since it is relatively new, there is a need to create serious branding to proliferate more recognition and establish a solid identity.

With this goal in mind, the founding director contacted EIGHTXXVIII (8:28) to provide a suitable solution. Arapai East wanted to accelerate their brand development through logo creation — one that denotes timelessness and purpose.

We approached this problem by incorporating the brand mark into a logo. This includes conceptualizing and designing the brand logo. In summation, the logo creation depicts the following areas: logo style, concept, and color combination. First, with the logo style, it was agreed upon to go with a letter-marked symbol that looks simple and easy to remember. Next, the concept involves a star symbol – encompassing the Eastward direction which depicts the letter “A” in the Arapai.

In terms of the color combination, it was the client’s preference to go with gold and black. As creatives, we see gold as the color of inner wisdom, quality and wealth. Moreover, gold implies generosity of time, money and spirit which are a good foundation for the business. While the color black will serve as a subtle attempt to break off the continuous trail of gold. Likewise, it will also give the brand logo a more professional and elegant image.
